What a Champ!

It's hard to believe Ryker is 2 months old.  We took him for his well baby today.  Along with his routine check he got shots.  I apologized to him all morning about what he was going to experience today.  We arrived at the doctor's office 20 minutes early.  We had only been there 2 or 3 minutes when the nurse called us back.  She was shocked to have a patient there that early and thanked us.  We followed her to an examine room where she weighed, measured his height and head circumference.  11 lbs 14 oz!!  24.5 inches and I don't remember his head but it's still in the 25%.  The nurse left and we waited for the doctor.  She came in and checked him over and said he looked great!  She then proceeded to go over the 3 shots and liquid "shot" he would be getting.  The nurse returned a few minutes later.  I started to prepare myself for the agony of pain he was about to endure.  She first gave him the liquid which he swallowed quite fast.  I think he may have actually liked it.  Tres picked him up to comfort him while she did the shots.  She quickly did 2 shots in one leg and one in the other.  I drooped my head just waiting for the scream of pain....   Nothing!  I looked up.  His little face scrunched up and he let out a tiny squeal for about 3 seconds and then coughed a couple of times.  That was it!!!   The nurse was along with us was shocked that he wasn't crying.  We checked out and took the elevators downstairs where we put him into his car seat and walked to the car.  By the time we reached the car he was asleep.  I have been dreading this day for weeks now and he was hardly bothered!  He's been sleeping a little more then normal, which she said could be a side effect.  It's been great!  I am so impressed with my little man!  I wish everyone could have this same experience.  He can have side effects for up to 3 weeks.  So say a little prayer that the next few days go this easy for him.
